Guys, in short, I swear to god I don’t support gravecest… like I hate it.
This is for my rentry to explain so maybe people will understand that I do not support the incest in the game like most fans. I genuinely think that like half of the ‘fandom’ likes gravecest, I HATE IT. Does it make me better than them even though I still enjoyed tcoaal? Not really… I enjoyed the story, I thought it was okay, and if you interpret the incest part right, it can be used to help convey how toxic Andy and Leyley’s relationship is. I think the criticism was handled very poorly by the creator and since the fandom already likes gravecest sm it opens up the fetishization.
I think it could’ve been conveyed a different way, and I understand people who don’t like it, but pls don’t hate me for liking it… another way I explained it that I liked
“ If you interpret the incest for the game in a way that shows how Andy and Leyley’s relationship is then it makes more sense (even tho it’s most likely js fetish content) bc their relationship is horrible and weird. They don’t love each other their dependency has turned into obsession and insecurity without each other. That’s not love that’s mental illness and that’s what their relationship is supposed to convey but u take the part that has the incest and make it the whole game under minding the fact that the whole game shows how toxic they are together. And the game itself has many flaws (like the poor apocalyptic atmosphere) that makes it hard to think that any thought went into the incest part of the game other than maybe shock value and/or fetishizing it if not for the story.”
While we’re on the topic (kinda) I also enjoyed Saya No Uta… it definitely went too far with the sensitive content, but I still enjoyed the game and thought the story was good. It has lots of flaws and relies too much on shock value, but I still enjoyed it…
Is this making me go crazy bc I don’t wanna be viewed as a horrible person? Yeah. I just want ppl to understand I don’t support what may be wrong with a media. I usually enjoy problematic media for the non problematic parts.
