People can like problematic media
It doesn’t make them the worst person in the world…
i’m kind of writing this for a selfish reason since I like a lot of games or visual novels more that get a lot more criticism than other media and honestly it’s valid… It’s very valid…
I like problematic media.. and some of the media’s I like, I literally understand the hate. I’ve played Saya No Uta, and quite liked it, but some of the sensitive content was taken too far. I like Okegom, but can agree that even while I think the sensitive content was handled pretty fairly, I understand where it gets to the point where it feels fetishized, even while I enjoyed the game. Most of them are visual novels that I try to explain my like for, but one I can’t explain is ybc… I hate that I enjoy it, yk? It’s weird asf don’t get me wrong 😂 but I do like it? It’s weird. One that the hate is a bit confusing to me is Clinical Trial. I saw someone hating very hard on it, but they also really enjoyed TCOAAL which idrc but shipped ‘gravecest’ so their opinion doesn’t matter to me that much, but I still think it was a bit crazy. They think that Clinical makes Lee seem like he’s not bad, but that’s not how I took it, especially if you as the player reject him. He is so selfish in the game, idc if you ship them, but he does pmo in the game.
But I think people can like any media especially since I know I’m not a bad person, and I’m okay with people thinking ‘that’s weird, I don’t know how I feel abt u’ or js blocking me, again, I get it! Block what or who you don’t like, protect your peace!
I don’t care how hypocritical you are for it either, I hate tcoaal, but like saya no uta. It’s weird, no? People live how they want, and the internet gives us access to the best solution of all time. Blocking!! And I’m not saying in a passive aggressive way, I genuinely feel like people should just block.
- Side note of the blog, proshippers and others are a different story, while I think ppl should just block bc it’s so much more helpful, don’t put something on the internet that you know will be revived mostly negative and then be confused when you get lots of hate!!
And I don’t support anything in the games I’ve talked about… seriously, I pride myself on liking the media but trying my hardest to separate the icky parts of it. But yeah, that’s all! Thanks for reading monarchs!!!!
