I heart mafia!
So I’ve been playing the mafia games. I have all of them from the og Mafia to Mafia: The Old Country. I love them all dude. They fr embody despair istg 😞💔 but anyway, I wanted to complain about one thing.. that people truly think Mafia III is a horrible game.
I absolutely adore this game, BUT I do understand when people view it lesser to the other Mafia games, but it’s story is truly a masterpiece… (spoilers for like all the games up ahead)
- ACTUALLY.. I literally just finished the newest mafia game (old country) AND OMFG..? Guys, what FHE hell. Why do we make stories of destruction and despair ❤️🥹 like please. NONONO. WHY?? WHY DOD THEY KILL ENZO… ALSO?? cesare… CESARE OF ALL PPL.. and they juked me with that false fucking happiness.
All Mafia games have such a deep meaning and horribly sad story dude Mafia 1 actually was the worst betrayal bro. That’s my HUSBAND.. Sam Trapani… but bro it actually showed how much someone in that situation can change. They all wanted out, Paulie, Sam, and Tommy. But Sam wanted to live more than he wanted out. He was scared and fear is such a big part of these games dude
Mafia 2, absolutely insane. Does it have its flaws? Absolutely, but the story IS SO GOOD. It literally makes up for everything. The game doesn’t really play into the betrayal as a big part of the game, but more of how much the downfall affects Vito, taking his best friend while he has to live with the guilt.
- Side note: I think Joe’s appearance in Mafia 3 isn’t the worst thing in the world especially since Vito doesn’t know he’s alive. It was a lil fan service, so what? If anything, to excuse it in my head… I think about how Vito still lives with the guilt of getting Joe killed while Joe can’t let Vito know he’s alive… ok…
Mafia 3… the most hated mafia game. The biggest flaw is the gameplay. They relied so much on having it open world but not having everything needed to make it an actual open world game. Mafia 1 and 2 aren’t open world, they take from story to story with a sort of bare world (interaction wise) which is fine! The story makes up for all of that, but Mafia 3 missed that mark.
But ALSO.. the story is beautiful. There’s a shot at the end of the game that I really like and it has Lincoln standing across from Sal, and it makes me think about how different they really are. One is living through his greed and the other through his resentment. At the end, he’s being searched for but never truly found and I like this because I also think he lost himself a long time ago. (Bear with me) when he finally gets his revenge, he has the option to take over, or leave. Either one, you don’t see him like he was at the beginning before the betrayal. He always will have been the reason for his dad and brother’s death. No matter how’d you interpret it, he’ll never get back from his grief and his grief is basically the whole game. Without his grief, he would’ve left it, be depressed, but he was enraged instead. But after killing them all, he gets nothing back. Nothing. Not even their honor back for them. Because being in, or only associated with the mafia only gets you despair.
Can you tell I like Mafia? Anyway! Heh.. thanks for looking at my blog!! Bai bai king!
